Notes and Guidelines for Prestige Plant Hangers (PPH)
Designed for Colorbond fences and brick or concrete walls
Colorbond fences with the square design capping rail on the top and bottom are best suited for PPH's attaching well to this design of capping rail. Other Colorbond fences with the 6 sided capping rail do not work as well.
Strength and condition of your Colorbond Fence
The PPH's should only be attached to strong, sturdy and well-built Colorbond fences. If the post's are not securely concreted into the ground and both top and bottom capping rails are not firmly secured, the fence capping rail may move if loaded with several of our plant hangers.
Old fences in poor condition may not be strong enough and hence It is the responsibility of the purchaser to check and confirm the condition and strength of the fence before attaching any PPH's. (No responsibility is taken by the PPH's for use of our products with fences in poor condition)
Attaching and loading each Colorbond panel with PPH’s
Every Colorbond fence has a post in the ground at the end of each panel, this is where the maximum strength is for each fence panel. The ideal position for hanging the PPH's is 15-25cm from each post and if hanging smaller pots generally you can hang 3-4 per panel, or for the larger pots 2-3 per panel. How to fit PPH to the Colourbond fence
Fitting Prestige Plant Hangers to brick or concrete walls
Recommended pot sizes and approx. weight limits
Guidelines on the size and weight of your pots and plants are as follows;
Small pots
20-25cm diameter approx. 2.0kg – 3.0kg
Large pots
30-35cm diameter approx. 3.0kg – 4.0kg
Fitting to brick and concrete walls
PPH’s also have made specific hangers designed to be hung off brick or concrete walls around entrances, porches, decks etc. They are fitted via using concrete rawl plugs and a stainless steel screw. This means they require a hole drilled into the wall for fitting and inserting an appropriate rawl plug and screw.
Pots and chains to hang plants
A variety of pots with chains and hooks can be purchased together from most nurseries and hardware stores, ready to plant and hang your new plants, or you can make your own chains and attach to your pots, then just purchase hooks when choosing your pot sizes. (rolls of varying size chain can be purchased at most hardware stores).
As we have been using our Plant Hangers for many years now, we mostly make our own chains so we can vary the length for different plants and pots if needed. We use three chains as opposed to the four chains normally attached with purchased ones.
